creating life: part two

Did some thinking... Thought of possible story
lines to fill this character's needs.
In the end I built a female body prototype
out of clay. Next time i might go by an
image.

It's pretty rough, but I'm new to clay, well I'm new to all these mediums; anyway the process goes:
clay sculpture, make a cast, fill the cast with skin texture, add skeleton, filling. voilĂ  a fully pose-able being.

creating life: part one

About a two weeks ago after seeing a certain exhibition, and watching a certain animated film; I found myself inspired to create my own moving picture production.
After doing a little research I discovered this could be a small bit more complicated than expected. I first had to get supplies from the local art store, a few camera accessories off ebay. still yet to arrive. Now educated on the process, building a skeleton was first task.

wire and glue very basic. stuff. At the moment this character doesn't have a story or a sex.
I did give it hands and feet.

Looking a little like a robot (hot glue guns are awesome) I went primary school and used matchsticks to add some mass to the arms and legs, also ensuring they would bend only in joint areas.

on the right: has a matchstick penis. yikes.
